Italian Air Force and ENAV sign an agreement to improve technology and services

 

The Italian Air Force and ENAV have signed an agreement to put into operation an ever higher level of collaboration and exchange of work experience with the aim of developing the highest standards of safety, efficiency, quality and sustainability of the air navigation services.

 

The agreement signed by the Air Force Chief of Staff, General S.A. Pasquale Preziosa and by Massimo Garbini the CEO of ENAV, foresees a joint effort on a series of specific shared projects in the technological, operative and legislative areas.

 

The agreement deed will last 4 years from the date of signing and a committee for cooperation between the Air Force and ENAV has been set up to guarantee the start up process and continuing monitoring of the activity. The following are some of the main points in the agreement deed:

  • application of projects of mutual interest arising from the implementation of the Single European Sky
  • harmonisation of technological updates
  • joint use of infrastructures
  • production of aeronautical maps
  • implementation of systems and procedures for flight safety and security
  • dual application of regulations, procedures and training for air navigation services
  • implementation of systems and procedures with the aim of favouring joint operation of systems and services
  • matching systems for calculating terminal and route tariffs to reach joint performance objectives laid down by the Single European Sky.

Pasquale Preziosa declared. - “It ratifies the spirit of joint trust which has always been at the heart of the collaboration between the Air Force and ENAV in order to provide the country with the safest and most efficient air navigational services possible. This means that our successors must also be committed to achieving increasingly ambitious results in the management of military and civil air traffic control.”
