u-space: the airspace of drones

U-Space is the set of services designed to ensure that drones can operate in airspace safely and efficiently

With D-Flight, ENAV is leading the construction of U-Space in Italy, the key factor in operating drones safely in every environment and for all types of mission.

The segment of airspace intended for drones is up to 120 meters above the ground with restrictions in certain areas, such as near an airport.

Different categories of remotely piloted vehicles are authorised to fly in this airspace, classified in accordance with the technical specifications set out in the European Regulation issued by EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency).

The goal of the U-Space is to accommodate traditional air traffic with remotely piloted vehicles.
