ENAV at the Grand Prix of Italy 2015

Activated the mobile control tower at the helipad near circuit.

Monza, 6 September 6, 2015 -  It took place in Monza in the first weekend in September the Formula One Grand Prix of Italy. ENAV activated the mobile control tower at the helipad near circuit. Four air traffic controllers from the Tower of Milan-Linate took turns in traffic management in takeoffs and landings.

 

Many different types of aircraft flown shuttling between Linate airport and Monza to transport numerous personalities, including the pilot Sebastian Vettel, who just won second place in the race, and the US film producer George Lucas. They both held a few minutes with the ENAV staff.

 

The Tower was active on Saturdays 5 and Sunday 6 September and managed with regularly and safely a total of more than 300 movements with a peak of 42 movements in one hour.
