At the 2017 Italian Grand Prix, from September 1 to September 3, ENAV provided an air traffic control service with a fully equipped Mobile Control Tower at a Helipad operated in a special area within the Monza Formula 1 motor racing circuit.

Many different helicopters operated from Linate airport to the Monza circuit and more national and European locations, again this year.
They carried the participating Teams and their guests, the local Authorities, the numerous fans and the people who attended the event.

Several air traffic controllers from Linate airport rotated in shifts for managing and coordinating safe and timely the air traffic flow in takeoffs and landings of the helicopters.

ENAV Mobile Control Tower has managed safe and timely a total of more than 350 movements with a peak of 50 movements in one hour.
