Civil Air Navigation Services Organization, created in 1966 in order to represent ANSPs in the international scenario. Its members manage around 85% of the global airspace. The organization is the global voice of the companies that provide air traffic control and allows its members to share experiences and promote best practices. The organization represents its members in the most important bodies and international organizations by supporting ANSPs interests. In order to assist its members, CANSO established a ICAO liaison office which spreads to CANSO’s members the evolution of the activities within the UN’s agency where CANSO is an observer.
ENAV directly participates to the organization’s activities both at global and regional level (Europe and Middle-East). Regarding the global office, ENAV in involved in activities regarding Safety (Safety Standing Committee), policies (Policy Standing Committee) and operations (Operations Standing Committee). At regional level, on the other hand, ENAV’s involvement is related to the European CANSO CEO Committee (EC3), executive committee composed of ANSPs executive members, CANSO Europe Coordination Meeting (CECM), which coordinates groups and task force dealing with specific subjects and CANSO Europe Safety Directors (CESAF) operating in the field of air safety.
