The Flight Efficiency Plan (FEP) is a multiyear project implemented by ENAV. By optimising the air routes network, it makes it possible to reduce flight times, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. ENAV has always designed and tailored solutions that contribute to increased flight safety and efficiency. Since 2009, in accordance with international guidelines, it has published the FEP with the aim of helping to reduce custumer's costs and environmental impact as well as introducing a leading edge navigation system to Italian airspace.
It is estimated that since the project was implemented in 2008 to date, airlines have achieved savings of about 100 million euro overall.
Additionally, ENAV has implemented several initiatives with airlines, supported by its Customer Relationship Management for cooperation and sharing of operational proposals. The exchange of information with users through regular meetings and follow-up has resulted in important feedback for guiding ENAV initiatives.
