International Workshops

Weather has always had major impacts on all aspects of the Air Traffic Management System, but today is becoming even more crucial than ever. EUROCONTROL Workshop on MET Support to ATM was held for facilitating this desired interactive process between the Air Traffic Controllers and the Meteorologists communities and Stakeholders involved.

Documents regarding meteorological coordination procedures between ENAV Forecasting Centres and the ACCs of Milano and Roma, particularly concerned the use of weather radar data, were presented at the EUROCONTROL workshop as a contribution for discussion.

Unlikely most of the European Air Traffic Service providers, to whom meteorological support is granted by an external national service, the Meteorological Service of ENAV, being fully integrated at all levels with the Controllers community, is able to guarantee 24 hours a day , for 365 days a year updated aeronautical meteorological information and products, associated with adequate operational assistance, finalized to assure high levels of air traffic safety and regularity, also in adverse weather conditions.
