Special CANSO World ATM Congress 2013
Enav participated at the first edition of CANSO World ATM Congress (February 12 - 14, 2013) that was held at the Ifema Feria de Madrid (Spain).
The event was a new occasion for Enav to promote the international activities in which it is actively involved (such as SESAR and BLUE MED) and to present its own Enav Services commercial offer.
During the World ATM Congress 2013 Enav’s booth hosted numerous meetings, in particular some gathers regarding the A6 – an alliance of the largest and most influential Air Navigation Service Providers in Europe.
Enav's exhibition space also hosted Techno Sky - Enav’s controlled company that deals with the assistance and maintenance of plants and systems used for air traffic control – and SICTA, the consortium controlled by Enav and Techno Sky for the development of the air traffic control systems.
Enav also presented two seminars at the Aviation Arena that described the Company’s activity in international field.
The Company also illustrated the last successes of its own commercial offer in the south east of Asia. Enav Services enriched itself of new services relative to Techno Sky and SICTA.
In particular, ENAV Services presented 4 different areas:
- Aeronautical Consulting and Design
- Training
- Flight Inspection
- Management, engineering and operational maintenance of ATM systems

Experience is ENAV’s most valuable asset. [more...]
SESAR is the most challenging Programme for the modernization of the European air traffic management: it originates from a proposal developed by the aeronautical industry in 2003. ENAV had immediately joined this ambitious initiative: in 2004, ENAV instituted a Consortium along with 8 important European Air Service Providers (AENA, AUSTROCONTROL, DFS, DSNA, NATS , LFV, LVNL, NAV Portugal). The Single European Sky regulatory framework sets forth the implementation of Functional Airspace Blocks (FABs) by the EU Member States. A Functional Airspace Block is a portion of airspace where the air traffic is managed regardless of existing national boundaries, with operational and technical requirements aimed at simplifying and harmonizing air traffic management limiting costs, improving operational capacity and at the same time, reducing the environmental impact of operations.
The BLUE MED FAB initiative, coordinated by ENAV, developed up to its Definition Phase with the financial contribution of the European Commission, is one of the most significant FABs at European level and aims at the creation of a FAB over the central/south-eastern part of the Mediterranean basin, with the active involvement of non-EU states..
